What is the NVQ process?
An NVQ is a portfolio-based qualification that showcases your theoretical and practical knowledge through written documentation, observations, and witness testimonies. Here’s how it works:
INDUCTION
Your assessor will guide you on collecting necessary evidence and completing required documentation.
PORTFOLIO COMPLETION
Gather evidence and complete site observations to demonstrate your competence.
CPCS BLUE CARD APPLICATION
Once your portfolio is completed, apply for your CPCS Competent Operator Blue Card through CITB.
NVQ
Red to Blue CPCS Cards:

Red Trained Operator Card: Issued after completing CPCS, GQA, or CSCS courses, valid for up to 2 years.

Upgrade to Blue Card: Requires completing an NVQ program and the CITB Health, Safety, and Environment test. Upon successful completion, you’ll receive the CPCS Competent Operator Blue Card.
